The forum with the theme “The potential of Islamic Economy for Entrepreneurs and Business in Africa” will be held between July 16th and 19th, 2017 at Marrakech, the major economic centre of Morocco, a north African country.

The convener, Imam AbdulRasheed Abubakar, said the programme will undoubtedly help entrepreneurs and investors identify and develop knowledge around the sectors of the Islamic economy.

Abubakar, who is ‎ the President of the African Islamic Economic Policy Foundation (AFRIEPF) , said this year’s conference was to transform businesses in Africa.

According to him, the forum is being held at a time of continued global economy stagnation, geopolitical tensions, policy uncertainty, financial market volatility and rapid changes in technology, hence making it the right moment for Africa at large (Nigeria inclusive) to expand its investor portfolio as well.

“It represents the opportunity where leaders in Islamic Economy meet with African companies, financial institutions, entrepreneurs and professionals to foster business relationships and stimulate the African economic growth.

“This year’s conference which could transform business in the continent will generate significant interest include the ‘Global and Philanthropy Awards’ presentation ceremony, as well as an exhibition showcasing Islamic products and services from the event’s different sponsors.‎”
