2019: Govs are presidential direct primaries returning officers – APC

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed respective State Governors to serve as Returning Officers for the Presidential Direct Primaries holding across the States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to a statement issued Thursday night by the acting National publicity Secretary of the party, Yekini Nabena said, “States where there are no Governors on the Party’s platform, Senators along with the ministers are to serve as Returning Officers for the exercise”.
The statement also stated that National and State House of Assembly members are to coordinate their various constituencies during the exercise.
Meanwhile, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has rescheduled the date of the governorship primaries to 30th September.
However, the party said subsequent elections are unchanged with Senate primary election holding on the 2nd October 2018, House of Representatives Primary will hold on the 3rd of October while 4th October will be for the States House of Assembly.
The statement said that the National Convention of the party will hold on the 6th of October, also the Presidential Primary election on the same day.
