2019 election: Hon Ajibo declares for Nsukka West constituency

The winner of Enugu House of Assembly for Nsukka West constituency in 2010, Hon. Oliver Ajibo whose mandate was denied by the then Vita Abba led Peoples Democratic Party in Enugu State has vowed to reclaim it come 2019.

Ajibo made this known while declaring his intention to contest Enugu House of Assembly to represent Nsukka West constituency.

He said, he would give the 2019 election his all to avoid a repeat of what happened in 2010 when his mandate was given to the person who came third in the election.

When asked to speak on what transpired and while he was denied the mandate by his party, Ajibo simply said it was the decision of the party hierarchy that Dame Nkechi Omeje Ogbu be allowed to represent the party in the House of Assembly election.

The retired naval officer said, “It was the decision of the party that I should allow Dame Nkechi Omeje Ogbu to go to the State House of Assembly.

“It was unfortunate that I was not allowed to represent my people who gave me their support to contest the Enugu House of Assembly election in 2010. But I want to thank them for their unflinching support and promise them that I will not betray their confidence come 2019.

He said, he would continue to remain loyal to the party which made him party chairman in Nsukka LGA and urged his supporters to disregard whatever they have been hearing.

Investigation by Daily Times revealed that 12 aspirants contested the Nsukka West constituency in the Enugu House of Assembly in 2010.
