2019: APGA’ll sack APC from Aso Rock

In what seems like a lofty dream, two chieftains of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), have said that the party would win the general election in 2019.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Anambra State on Political Parties, Chief Obi Benjamin, said that his party had perfected ideas on how to take over governance come 2019 general election, stressing that the party, had remained a party with best structure across the African region.

His words, “I must tell you here that what is being experienced in our party, is a byproduct of the good structure put on group that has led to the party producing a chairman in one of the six area councils of the FCT. And the party would have grabbed more area councils if not for political manipulations by other parties.”

On the possibility of the party winning presidential election come 2019, he stated that there was a political strategy which APGA had adopted and no party had its ideology. He said that that the first process was the relative peace which actually had returned to the party and made things easier.

According to him, the peace and reconciliation process, was an initiative of the Chief Willy Obiano, the governor of Anambra State.

He pointed out that this process would ensure the return of all the South East Governors and those of them who had left the party due to internal political wrangling.

“There are so many things the South East have been lacking in the hand of previous administrations; these include the inability to have the number six state for the South East. You will believe me that it is only the South East region that remains with only five and the reason is lack of togetherness and inability to speak with one voice. But, this time around, I think we will get it right.

Chief Obi Benjamin gave an assurance that APGA was moving in all the states and that capturing Lagos and Kano states was a top priority. “And I would like a situation where a Hausa man would come to my place and win and election, and I should also go up north and win and elective position and that is what APGA preaches.”

The National Chairman of the party, Dr Victor Ike Oye, said that, “Our plan in 2019, is to ensure that APGA takes over all the South East States and after that our interest, is to move in to Aso Villa to teach Nigerians what it takes to lead the people.”

He said that his leadership knew no bound as far as achieving genuine reconciliation was concerned, stating that those who had genuine issues that attracted attention, were brought close for reconciliation to ensure that the party achieved its aims and objectives.
