2016 budget: Accountant tasks FG on implementation

A chartered accountant, Alhaji Lukman Mustapha, has advised the federal government to ensure strict implementation of the 2016 budget.
He appealed to Nigerians to look inward and consume only what they produced and shun foreign products.
While speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, Mustapha praised the Minister of Finance for the government’s resolve to disburse N350 billion out of the capital budget during the second quarter of this year.
This step, he noted, would boost the economy as contractors would be mobilised back to site.
Mustapha commended the National Assembly for not tampering with the N500 billion intervention funds as included in the 2016 national budget by the Presidency.
He urged Kwara and other states of the federation to key into the federal government’s school feeding programme as it would create more employment opportunities for Nigerians.
He also hailed the conditional cash transfer scheme of the Buhari administration, which he noted, would provide N5, 000 for every old, indigent Nigerian.
