136 inconclusive elections recorded in one year, says INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has affirmed that it recorded only 136 inconclusive elections in the last one year.
National Chairman of INEC, Mammud Yakubu, made the disclosure, on Thursday, in Abuja, during the presentation of a research guide and observation of the 2016 Edo State governorship election at the Yar’ Adua centre.
Yakubu, who was represented at the occasion by the Director, Election and Party Monitoring (EPM), Bala Shittu, said that the commission was able to achieve 76 percent conclusive elections.
He, however, promised that the 2016 governorship election in Edo and Ondo states would recorded tremendous improvement from the last one year.
He assured that the commission will take every bold steps needed to ensure maximum security of voters in the coming elections, adding that it is collaborating with relevant security agencies to ensure a hitch free election in both states.
