Zamfara agency trains communities on COVID-19 prevention

The Zamfara state Agency for Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) on Wednesday commenced training for participants drawn from 26 communities in the state on measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

The participants were drawn from the community projects management committees of the agency across the communities.

In a remark, the Permanent Secretary in charge of CSDP, Alhaji Garba Muhammad, said that it was aimed at enlightening the communities on how to control and prevent the spread virus in the state.

He said COVID-19 pandemic had become a global challenge, adding that the training was to complement efforts of government and other health institutions in combating the menace in the state.

He stated that his agency invited CPMSs members in 26 communities from nine local government areas of the state and therefore, urged the participants to step down the knowledge garnered to other members of their communities.

Also speaking, the Project Officer, Information, Education, Communication and Training of the agency, Malam Umar Nakwada, urged members of the public to ensure they used face masks, hand sanitisers and observe social distancing.
