Woman commits suicide in Delta

There was pandemonium recently in Okwidjere Community near Kokori in
Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State when a 35-year-old
woman simply identified as Elohor drugged herself to death.

Daily Times gathered that Elohor drank substances considered to be
poison which led to her death before anyone could come to her aid,

She is said to have lived with a friend for several years and was
last seen that afternoon in the compound before the news of her sudden
demise filtered into town.

The deceased had no husband and child and her neighbors said she may
have committed suicide as a result of frustration.

Elohor, a former provision hawker, recently resorted to trading in food
stuffs at the popular Effurun Market in Uvwie Local Government Area,
Delta State.

The Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew
Aniamaka confirmed the report saying, “It is a case of suspected
murder.”

He however noted that investigation has commenced to unravel the true
cause of the death while the remains has been deposited in a mortuary.
