We have registered 750 companies, cottage industries- CAC

The Kebbi State office of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has said that last year was eventful as they have registered at least 750 company names and businesses in Kebbi State. This was disclosed by the Head, CAC, Barrister Yusuf Hamza in an interview with Daily times in his office in Birnin Kebbi. He noted that the number increased unlike the previous years when the federal government introduced Business Incentive Strategy (BIS) where the amount for the registration of business was cut to N500. He described the influx of companies and business registration as overwhelming which he said stems from the sensitisation campaigns by the Commission that covered all the local governments’ headquarters in the state. Aside from company registration Hamza said the Commission also took care of post incorporation which means relocation of company. The major constraint of the Commission in the state is the refusal of existing registered companies to bring their yearly turnover, which assists them to know how the company is fairing in the state. He described the Commission’s working relationship with host state as frank and cordial adding that the state government promised them a plot of land to build a permanent office.
