Umeh's arrest was stage-managed – APGA chieftain
The former Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA)’s elders Forum, Chief Sylvester Nwobu- Alor has alleged that the recent arrest of Chief Victor Umeh, by the DSS was stage managed to attract sympathy and support from Anambraians.
Chief Nwobu Alor, who spoke to reporters on Thursday in Awka, wondered why any sane person would petition the security operatives on what he described as senseless and insignificant issues like “blaming Mr. President for not cautioning the Fulani herdsmen supporting MASSOB and criticizing cattle rearers.”
According to him, “Chief Umeh also wants to use it to blackmail his political opponents especially Peter Obi whom he accused he wrote the petition.
“His primary motive is to blackmail Peter Obi and scuttle his chances in the forthcoming Senatorial election.
“Some of us know that Peter Obi know is a credible and honest gentleman who cannot write any petition against anybody, no matter the circumstances.
“Victor did not stop there, he organised political thugs to demonstrate with placards calling Peter Obi all sort of names.
“I am honestly and sincerely appealing to all politicians to imbibe the tenets of discipline, honesty and good conscience in the pursuit of their political carrier” Chief Nwobu- Alor added.
