President Bola Tinubu has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his “vision, commitment to quality and timely execution” of critical infrastructure in the nation’s capital.
Speaking yesterday in Abuja, President Tinubu said that the newly completed carriageway linking Ring Road 3 (RR3) to the Murtala Mohammed Expressway in Abuja will enhance mobility and unlock fresh business and housing opportunities.
Represented by Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau at the commissioning of the right-hand service carriageway of the Inner Northern Expressway (INEX), the President described the project as “a symbol of progress” and a vital element of his administration’s infrastructure agenda.

“It is with great pride and fulfillment that I stand before you today to commission the newly completed right-hand service carriageway of the Inner Northern Expressway linking Route 3 to the Outer Northern Expressway, also known as the Murtala Muhammed Way,” Tinubu said in his speech.
The President noted that the expressway project is a key component of the FCT’s master plan aimed at easing traffic congestion, improving urban mobility, and enhancing connectivity for millions of residents, commuters, and businesses across the capital city.
“I commend the FCT administration led by the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for his vision, commitment to quality and timely execution. You have contributed to something larger than the roadway. You have contributed to the future of our capital,” Tinubu stated.
According to him, the road is more than just a transport route. “This vital carriageway we commissioned today is not just a road. It is a symbol of progress and a reflection of our administration’s Rehabilitation Agenda. An agenda committed to building infrastructure that serves the people, unlocks economic potentials and supports sustainable development.”
He added that the carriageway would decongest key traffic points and open up surrounding districts for business and real estate development.
“This road will not only decongest key junctions, but also facilitate safer, faster movement within Abuja’s transportation corridors. It will open more opportunities for businesses, housing and investments in the adjoining districts,” he said.
President Tinubu further pledged to replicate similar projects across the country, saying: “We are determined to replicate these in every part of the country with roads, bridges, railways and more, ensuring that no region is left behind.” He appealed to residents to protect public infrastructure and obey traffic regulations, emphasizing that the road belongs to “all of us and to generations yet unborn.”
