Thugs Kidnap Sister, Daughter of Women Indebted To Travel Agent Over Unpaid 70,000 Euros

No fewer than 2 persons have reportedly been kidnapped by suspected thugs over the inability of one Augustina Ibhaze Oaikhenan to pay up her debt of 70,000 euros after she was assisted to Europe, a family source has confirmed.

The 2 kidnapped victims who are daughter and sister to Augustina Ibhaze Oaikhenan respectively are Bethel Oligbi and Vivian Oaikhenan.

The close family member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, claimed that prior to the kidnap incident of July 10, 2025, some thugs had a week ago earlier stormed the family residence of Augustina Ibhaze Oaikhenan who was assisted to Europe by a travel agent known as Kabazo having agreed to pay 70,000 euros upon her arrival.

The thugs numbering 5, according to the family member, were said to have angrily stormed the residence of the Indebted woman where property worth millions of naira were reportedly destroyed as the thugs had reportedly vowed to come back anytime soon for the 70,000 euros.

However, on July 10, 2025 Kabazo in company of some thugs were said to have reportedly stormed the residence of Augustina Ibhaze Oaikhenan in Irrua in Esan Central local government area of Edo State where they reportedly kidnapped Bethel and Vivian.

For failing to meet her repayment obligations of the 70,000 euros to Kabazo, the thugs made good their threats and kidnapped the 2 family members as the only conditions for their release was said to have been the full payment of the 70,000 euros..

Meanwhile, when contacted on the kidnap of the 2 victims, the Publc Relations Officer of the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police, DSP. Bright Iyamu said that the Command after receiving report on the case immediately launched a preliminary investigation into the incident while efforts are underway to apprehend those behind the unfortunate kidnap incident with a view to releasing the 2 kidnapped victims.
