Thirteen countries attend 2016 Africa Biggest Street Party carnival in Calabar
Thirteen countries of the world attended the Africa biggest street party, carnival in Calabar, Cross River State capital. Disclosing this Wednesday while inviting Governor Ben Ayade, executive governor of the state to make his remark before the flag-off, the chairman of the state carnival commission, Mr Gabe Onah listed the countries to include Brazil, Turkey, Croasia, U. K., Spain and others.
He said that former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, now senator and Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, were also in attendance. According to him, the 2016 carnival has been expanded in conformity with the vision of the governor.
In his comment, Governor Ben Ayade however said that the state was the melting point of African hospitality and invited the entire African countries and the world to the Africa Street Party, the carnival. “We have recognized the fact that carnival represent the true vitality, unity and harmony of African countries and invited Miss Arica Queen to flag-off the carnival.
Flagging off the Africa biggest street party, Miss Africa Queen explained that Africa has been in the eye of the world for years for organizing one of the best and the most popular street party in the world, “It is my honour to come from my country to represent Africa beauty queen in the carnival and flag-off the event.
Calabar Carnival festival in Nigeria, also tagged, Africa’s Biggest Street Party”, was created as part of the vision of making the Cross River State, the number one tourist destination for Nigerians and tourists all over the world. The carnival started on December 1, and last till 31 December 2016.
