Suspected kidnapper, militant responsible for Ikorodu killing gunned down

One of the suspects responsible for the killing of two soldiers and four policemen in Ikorodu Lagos on April 9 2017 has been killed by men of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris, Special Response Team(IRT).

The notorious militant/kidnapper who had perpetrated many cases of kidnap within Lagos and Ogun states was gunned down by the team deployed to the State to trace and bring to justice the militants responsible for the gruesome murder.

The Daily Times gathered that after several days of painstaking investigation and intelligence gathering, one of the Kingpins; Endurance Ominisan, (Aka Mighty), a native of Arogbo in Ondo State was trailed.

He was said to have come out from the creek to visit his girlfriend in a house he rented for her at number 20 Joel Adebolu Street, Ibeshe Area Ikorodu, when IRT team immediately swooped on him and surrounded the house.

According to the commander the IRT, ACP Abbah Kayari, who made the revelation in Lagos, “on sighting the Special IRT teams, the kidnapper had attempted to escaped through the roof of the house from where he fired several shots with his pistol on the IRT team who swiftly returned fire and fatally wounded the Kidnapper on the roof of the house.

“The injured kidnapper was eventually brought down from the roof of the house and rushed to General Hospital Ikorodu where he later died.”

However, the team commander further disclosed that the suspect confessed to the crime with his gang members.

Endurance was also said to have confessed to the kidnap of the Oniba of Iba, the Turkish School girls’ kidnap and many other before his death.

Items recovered from the suspect included one Turkish made Fatih 13 pistol with S/no 12TF00126 with 4 expended and 5 live Ammunitions.

The police further stated that efforts have been intensified to arrest the remaining gang member.
