South South Forum promises continuous support for Ambode

The South South People United Forum, Lagos State chapter has promised to continue to support the government of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in the state for its pragmatic and people oriented leadership.

Giving the assurance at the weekend during the inauguration of the newly elected executive of Kosofe Local Government Area chapter of the forum, one of its key leaders in the state,

the chairman of chairmen in the state, Chief Joseph Mordi, said the attention the government of Ambode has paid to the welfare of the people including that of non-indigenes has endeared the people to him.

Charging the newly elected executive to be focused and cooperate with the government in their local government, Mordi assured that the South South people are peace loving and will continue to do whatever it takes to ensure that the interest of their members and others in the areas are protected at all times.

While observing that the relationship between the peoples of the South South and that of the South West are very cordial, the chairman of chairmen charged the new executive to build on that relationship in the local government and ensure that they leverage of it to get the dividends of democracy for their members in the LGA.

Speaking earlier, chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Sofola Afolabi assured the newly inaugurated executive that his door will always be open to them, adding that he was always willing to work with groups that have the interest of the people at heart and are well organised.

The chairman, who was represented at the event, however advised the South South group members to register with the Community Development Associations in their area to ensure that they contribute their quota to the development of the council.

While charging the new leadership to be loyal to their higher authorities, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kosofe LGA, Samuel Oreoluwa, popularly called Clinton, told them that in life and politics loyalty to authority was the first rule to learn and that once they showed loyalty other things will easily fall in place.

Assuring them of the party’s support, Clinton urged them to carry their members along at all times and ensure they work in harmony and singleness of purpose.

Assuring of his readiness to unite the people of South South in Kosofe LGA, the newly inaugurated chairman of the body in the council, Pastor Denis Joseph said his plan is to ensure that there is unity among his people in the council,

“My plan is to ensure that there is peace and unity among the South South people of Kosofe, to ensure they work with the local government to ensure that there is development, peace and harmony in Kosofe LGA and Lagos State at large.

“I will try my best to bring our people together to ensure that our people get what they are supposed to get in terms of free education, good health and empowerment, we are also going to work hand in hand with the government to ensure that things work well,” he said.

The newly inaugurated executive of the over 200 members strong South South Forum in Kosofe include Pastor Denis Joseph, Chairman, Patrick Ahinze, Secretary, Sunday Abe, Financial Secretary, Mrs Ifeoma Okeke, Woman Leader, and Mr. Johnson Eze, Provost, while Engr. Okpatimehin is the coordinator of the group.
