Society gist: Prince Adedoyin’s presidential dream

By: Alabi Ajibade
There is the saying that when a door closes another always opens. To some, they often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed-door, that they do not see the other which opens for them.
However it appears Prince Ramon Adedoyin, the founder of the Oduduwa University, Ile Ife, Osun state, does not belong to the latter. When the multi-millionaire businessman lost out in his bid to become the Ooni of Ife, he seems not to have accepted the loss in good faith. He was accused of being behind most of the negative reports about the Ooni, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi both in social and mainstream media.
However, it seems the foremost educationist is ready to deploy his energy into serving the bigger society after the disappointment of becoming Ooni. Adedoyin is said to be dreaming of becoming Nigeria’s President Come 2019. Sources said the Ife Prince has been hobnobbing with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the promoter of the Africa Democratic Congress, ADC, hoping to become the standard bearer of the
party for the 2019 presidential election.
Aside the former president, Adedoyin is said to be having meetings with other notable personalities in the party over his ambition. But to some, his ambition has been described as that of a person building a castle in the air. He has been seen as someone who loves to hug the limelight and remain in the news always. For some inexplicable reasons, people have been asking questions about his political antecedent and whether he is that buoyant to run for the presidency.
