Sen Orji debunks Agric loan story

Oluchi Okorafor, Abuja
The Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Chief T. A. Orji, has denied the posting credited to him on Facebook about an Agric loan project, saying that it is a scam.
This was contained in a statement signed by his Media Adviser and Legislative Aide, Chief Eddie Onuzurike, on Monday in Abuja.
Orji said that there is no such project and disassociated him and his office from the scam just as he warned his constituents to disregard such information.
Someone who nearly fell victim to these fraudsters in a text message to the Senator wrote: “Good morning Senator T. A. Orji, In reaction to your agric loan post on Facebook. In reply you, directed me to Mr. James Okojie, confirm Sir. ”
However, in a swift reaction, the senator stated: “I do not know any man called James Okojie with phone no. 08148436568.”
Orji reminded his constituents that he only organises annual scholarship scheme for tertiary institutions, which is coordinated from the constituency office at No. 32 Ojike Street, Umuahia Abia State and supervised by a well constituted body of Stakeholders drawn from the six Local Government Areas of Umuahia North and South, Ikwuano, Osisioma Isi, Ala Ngwa North and South that make up the Abia Central Senatorial District.
Notices for the programme, Orji said, are always publicized in newspapers, television, and radio stations.
The Senator warned scammers to desist from such criminality which is an offence punishable by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
