Selena Gomez undergoes kidney transplant

Selena Gomez revealed the reason she was MIA for part of the summer was because she had to undergo a kidney transplant. In a lengthy post on Instagram, the Fetish hit maker opened up about her health condition saying she found out she needed the kidney transplant due to her Lupus.

Alongside three images on Selena’s transplant journey, the 25-year-old thanks her family and team of doctors for looking after her before and after the surgery.

Selena also revealed that her kidney donor was one of her best friends and thanked her for giving her the “ultimate gift and sacrifice.”

“There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”
