SDP guber candidate in Plateau insists on claiming mandate

The gubernatorial candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), in Plateau State, Honourable John Pofi, has called on the Independent National Electoral (INEC), to recognise him as the bonifide candidate of the party for next year’s governorship poll and not Godfrey Miri who lost at the primary election.
Pofi, who stated this in a chat with journalists on Monday, added that the party issued him a certificate as SDP candidate for the upcoming governorship election and his name was duly submitted to INEC but was changed to Miri, in “Abuja.’’
He lamented that such ‘‘action is in total contrast with the ideals of founding founders of the party and INEC have to do the needful by recognizing me has the rightful candidate of the party.’’
Meanwhile, Pofi said he was yet to get a response from INEC after sending a letter to the commission with a view to recognizing him as the party’s rightful governorship candidate in Plateau State.
