Sanusi said rather than relocate to Azare as insinuated on some social media platforms, he will be proceeding to Oxford University in the United Kingdom on fellowship.

The former Emir, who was reported to have nursed plans of permanently relocating to Azare, insisted there was nothing like that in his plans, but admitted that  the people of Azare forwarded a request to him, asking him to live there just like his Grand father, late Muhammadu Sanusi I.

A former member of Sanusi’s council, said he is confidently speaking based on directives by the former Emir.

He said the story of the relocation is a blatant lie and has no ground whatsoever.

According to him, Sanusi is currently planning to move to Oxford University in the UK on fellowship, adding that the Azare Emirate had consulted him but he refused to utter a word.

“This is because the Emirate of Azare and the entire populace have shown him love and even right from the beginning after his dethronement, went ahead to asked him to relocate there, looking at historical background of how his Grandfather resided since his dethronement.”

The Emir, who insisted that there was nothing like that in his plans however, said he will make Azare an alternative whenever he returns to Nigeria from the United Kingdom, Daily Times gathered.
