RUMOURS: Arsenal keen on PSV winger Matthias Verreth

The Gunners are said to have had scouts cast an eye over the 18-year-old, but may face competition from AC Milan if a transfer scramble is sparked

Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the development of PSV’s highly-rated winger Matthias Verreth, according to CalcioMercato.

The 18-year-old, who has represented Belgium at U19 level, is considered to be one of the hottest prospects in the Eredivisie.

The Gunners are among those to have sent scouts to monitor his progress in recent weeks, along with Serie A giants AC Milan.

Both clubs would be expected to make a move if the transfer door were to be opened, but PSV are understandably reluctant to part with a player they have contracted until 2019 – with that deal also including the option for a 12-month extension.
