Roger Federer beats Mischa Zverev to reach Australian Open semi-final

Roger Federer’s quest for Grand Slam title number 18 continues after a 6-1 7-5 6-2 victory over Germany’s Mischa Zverev in the Australian Open quarter-finals.
The Swiss great was once again in imperious form to brush aside Andy Murray’s conqueror in just over 92 minutes with a dominant display to reach his 13th Australian Open semi-final and continue the resurgence of the veteran this year following Venus Williams’ victory earlier in the day.
Federer also becomes the oldest man to reach the last four in Melbourne since Arthur Ashe in 1978 but, unlike the American great, Federer will have his sights set on the title after exceeding all expectations so far.
I’m happy. I played as well as I could in this tournament. I never thought I would be this good. Here I am still standing in a semi-final to play Stan,” Federer said in his on court interview.
