Rivers Guber Poll: APC WiLl Crush PDP, Says Ikanya

Rivers State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), on Monday, declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its gubernatorial candidate, Chief Nyesom Wike, will be mercilessly crushed at the April 11 governorship election.
According to APC, Wike and PDP’s woes had been further compounded, now that Governor Amaechi has triumphantly returned to lead the gubernatorial campaign, after successfully piloting the Muhammadu Buhari Presidential Campaign Organisation to victory in the March 28 presidential poll.
“If PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan could not withstand Amaechi’s knockout punch, there is no way Wike and Rivers PDP can survive our hurricane during the polls,” Rivers APC Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, said.
Ikanya, in a statement, warmly welcomed Amaechi back home and thanked him for re-joining the state’s APC campaign train.
“Our spirits have further been lifted by the return of the ‘Lion of Niger Delta politics’, an exemplary leader who, instead of taking a break after the bruising presidential campaign and election, came straight to Port Harcourt to take charge of our state’s campaign train,” Ikanya said.
He disclosed that the state’s APC governorship and House of Assembly campaign team has become greatly boosted, following Amaechi’s Easter message and rousing speech, while addressing APC supporters at Saturday’s victory rally in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the State.
“As Governor Amaechi rightly said in his Easter message, there is need for the good people of Rivers State to troop out in their millions this Saturday, to elect a new and capable governor in the person of Dr. Dakuku Peterside and the APC lawmakers that will join him, to complete the excellent job the Amaechi administration has started.
“Amaechi and his team have worked hard over the past eight years to put Rivers State on the path of sustainable progress. The greatest tribute we can pay to this great visionary is to elect Dr. Peterside to continue this progress, as we gladly release Amaechi for greater service at the federal level, with effect from May 29,” Ikanya said.
