RevolutionNow: Brutality bazaar as police shaves protester’s hair with knife

The ongoing nationwide protests for better governance has taken another brutal turn as security agents deployed by the Presidency to quell the agitations are reportedly abusing the protesters with reckless abandon.

Daily Times have gathered from viral graphic evidence currently flooding the media space that one of the protesters, whose name is unknown as at the time of filing this report had his hair shaved with a knife and broken bottle by the security agents.

Another protester by the name Damilare Adenola, who revealed bruises on his back said he was dehumanised and battered by the security operatives for taking part in the protest to demand better governance from the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, according to reports by Sahara Reporters.

The victim said he was flogged with iron and chain and kicked to the ground for no reason.

“I was beaten by more than four soldiers and policemen.  They slapped me several times and kicked me with boots. They also collected my phone and did not return it to me.

“It is unfortunate that this government does not accommodate civic space. There is no freedom of speech in Nigeria again” the victim said in Abuja.

The unrestrained brutality metted out to the RevolutionNow protesters appears to be a cautionary statement from President Buhari’s administration that no dissidence of any form, aimed towards undermining his administration will be tolerated. Perhaps, it is yet another exhibition of Nigeria’s security agents’ proclivity to overreach beyond limits during the course of executing their duties.
