Ramadan: Two killed, nine injured in Kwara road crashes

 

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Kwara command, on Monday, confirmed that two persons died in seven different road crashes during the last Eid-el fitr celebration in Kwara State.

The Sector Commander in Kwara, Mr. Sunday Maku disclosed this during an interview with the Daily Times, in llorin on Monday.

He said the seven accidents which occurred at different parts of the state during Sallah involved 38 persons with nine injured.

Maku said the Special Marshal on patrol during the period took the dead ones to mortuary and nine injured to hospitals.

The FRSC Commander revealed that 129 motorists were arrested for violating various traffic offenders during the period.

He said a total of 137 offences were violated by the offenders and 60 vehicles were impounded during the period.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Commission to continue ensuring that there is sanity on roads in all part of the state.

In another development, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara said it recorded a hitch free Eid-el -fitr celebration in Kwara.

The Commandant of the Corps in Kwara, Mr. Pedro Ideba stated this in llorin on Monday during an interview with Daily Times.
