The long arm of the law has caught up with a notorious six-man-gang allegedly responsible for many unrests in Oshodi of Lagos.
The Daily Times gathered that the suspects who had been declared wanted by the Police for their involvement in the Oshodi crisis were arrested following a tip off.
Recovered from the suspects are three Pump action guns and three locally made guns which they claim was given to them by Segun Adewale (aka Aeroland)
The Acting Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command who briefed journalists on the arrest of the suspects said, “On October 31st, 2017 at about 1:30am, at Oshodi and Orile Iganmu areas, six suspected armed hoodlums named Ibrahim Olowo (35 years), Wasiu Arogundade (40), Olawale Okoosi (aka No Story) aged 35 and Taiwo Sanni (aka Ejima) age 38 years as well as Ojo Mutiu (36) and Olasunkumi Ogundele aged 40 years were arrested.”
According to Olowo who spoke to our correspondent, a pump action rifle was given to him during the 2015 general election.
His words: “I am a clearing and forwarding agent. It was Aeroland that gave the gun to Baba Ese who also gave it to me for the general election. After the election, I had to keep it. I never used it for any negative purpose.”
Mutiu and Ogundele claimed they were security guards in Rain Oil filling station and didn’t have anything to do with the gun. They claimed the gun was found in their boss’ office.
The suspects who claimed they were members of the OPC were also in possession of cutlasses and assorted charms.
