Police arrest 3 suspects for theft in Niger

The Niger state Police Command has arrested three persons in Bida suspected of stealing five motor-cycles and receiving stolen properties.

According to the state police image maker, DSP Mohamed Abubaker, the suspects are Aliyu Aliyu, Dauda Ibrahim and Umar Garba.

Abubakar disclosed that two of the suspects specialized in stealing motor-cycles and selling same to the the third suspect, Umar Garba.

He added that the said Umar has confessed to snatching and selling seven motor-cycles robbed across the state, adding that during police investigation, all the suspects confessed to the crime while five motor-cycles were recovered as exhibits.

According to him, the suspects will soon be charged to court for prosecution.

“The command therefore, wishes to assure members of the public that the police will continue the onslaught on crime generally to stem the tide of criminality in the state and at same time solicit the support of the citizens in giving useful and timely information to the police,” he added.
