Plateau LG boss inaugurates 35km feeder roads

 

 

Management Committee Chairman of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau state, Mr. Luka Makut, on Monday, inaugurated the construction of over 35 km feeder roads across the council.

Our Correspondent observed that the feeder roads includes that of Maiyanga Tanti – Baba road, Tanti – Daffo road and Maikatako – Fanjur-Barkin -Ladiborder road.

While inaugurating the construction of over 35 km feeder roads network, Makut said the council embarked on the project so as to provide succour to the citizens.

“We have been disturbed and worried over the suffering and plight of the people of these communities in conveying their farm produce to the markets.

“It was based on these cogent reasons that we took a bold step to construct the roads in spite of our lean resources, “ he said.

Makut expressed the hope that the road projects, when completed, would cushion the suffering of the affected communities.

He assured the citizens of the desire of the management committee to provide them with basic amenities that would better their living conditions.

Makut explained that the council was executing the project through direct labour in order to cut down cost, considering the prevailing financial situation in the country.
