Plateau APC Congresses was successful because we retained zoning arrangement – Party Chair

The chairman of the Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Latep Dabang, has said that one of the reasons the conduct of the Ward Congresses in Plateau State was hitch free is because of the fact that the party retained all zoning positions as instructed by the National Working Committee (NEC).
Dabang stated this Tuesday in Jos while addressing Journalists on the outcome of the just concluded nationwide Congresses of the party.
In the words of the Chairman, “the state party leadership are on the same page on the issue of strong party structure with due respect to the resolutions last taken during the National Executive Committee of the party in Abuja.
I think what NEC is trying to do is to search for more vibrant and purposeful party members to support the incumbent members of the State Executive Committee. The SEC will be made up of more intellectuals and politicians.
“The stability of the party is very paramount; already local government committees to conduct the ward and LGA congresses are being set up. I want to assure all party faithful of a stronger and all inclusive APC in the state,” he said.
The party chairman who is also a member of the National Advisory committee of the APC on Congresses said most of the states that had crisis were as a result of not adhering to the guidelines of the party constitution regarding Congresses.
He described the ward congresses as a family affair in Plateau State based on the adoption of zoning arrangement following the resolution of NEC on congresses.
However, on the allegation leveled against the state party chairman by some party members, accusing him of hijacking the party administration structure and embezzling of some funds, Dabang dismissed the allegations, calling it the handy work of those who do not want the party to succeed.
Describing the media reports as unfounded, he said that APC as a political party was committed to transparency.
