PDP’S Ugwuanyi Is Enugu next Governor

With a wide margin, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has defeated his closest rival, Okey Ezea of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The result of the governorship election held on Saturday is as follows.

ANINRI PDP 39216, APC 886; ENUGU NORTH PDP 17829 APC 2050; ENUGU SOUTH PDP 15889 APC 16333; EZEAGU PDP 32995 APC 1307; IGBOETITI 21524 APC 2256; IGBOEZE NORTH PDP 51948, APC 2482; IGBOEZE SOUTH PDP 18120 APC 6231.

Others are: ISI-UZO PDP 21651, APC 1813; NKANUEAST PDP 12571 APC 975; NKANUWEST PDP 16683 APC 1148; NSUKKA PDP 41625 APC 9416; OJIRIVER PDP 13484 APC 2394; UDENU PDP 40120 APC 1463; UDI PDP 26892 APC3934; UZO UWANI PDP 17947 APC 1915.

Also, the PDP’s current member representing Nsukka East, Hon. Chinedu Nwamba,, has been declared winner of the State House of Assembly polls  beating his closest rival Eze Chidiebere Osita of the APC.
The returning Officer for the election, Prof. Edwin Igbokwe announced the results as follows:
PDP 20,000; APGA  43; APC 3,408
Also Dame Nkechi Ogbu has emerged winner to represent Nsukka West for second term having polled 20,332 to beat the APC candidate who polled 6,393.
