FYI: PDP vows to take over Niger from APC

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State, on Monday, vowed to reclaim the state from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) come 2019.
The leaders who spoke at the emergence of the new executive of the party, at the party secretariat, in Minna, described their loss of power to the APC in the 2015 general elections as an accident which they were prepared to correct.
The former state chairman of the party Alhaji Umar Mohammed Maali and his successor Barrister Sulaiman Tanko Beji, also submitted that the ruling APC had prepared a veritable ground for the PDP to return to power in 2019, because of its lack of performance.
Aside from this, they argued that the success recorded in the conduct of the congresses of the party PDP from the ward to the state level showed that it was now ready to contest successfully for the elections in 2019.
“Before the end of 2019, we want the whole of Niger state to return to the PDP; that is what we will work to achieve”, Maali said.
