PDP Scores Buhari Low, Indict Gov. Lalong For Spending N3.3b  In Foreign Trips

The Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau, Hon. Damishi Tangson Sango, has said that the first year of President Mohammadu Buhari is dogged by success paralysis, incoherence in policy, mortal hesitation, impunity, utter disdain and disregard for rule of law.

Sango also accused the presidency of instilling fear in people, describing it as a government go-slow and traffic jam; deceit, propaganda and very quick resort to the comfort of an incendiary blame game.

The PDP state Chairman made this disclosure at a maiden press briefing Tuesday, in Jos, at the Party’s Secretariat, where he out lashed the All Progressive Congress (APC), to have mislead Nigerians in the past one year.

His words, “not many thought the first year of Mohammadu Buhari would look like this. The pump price of petrol at 145, the Naira at 380 to a Dollar, not a single road tarred, the 2016 Budget in Baby Steps, no minister has received a tranch for work, salary backlogs now a routine, herdsmen as killers-squads Biafra on the rampage, Niger Delta brigands reborn, the Change Mantra muted, where are the jobs, the welfare scheme and food for students, where are they?”, he said.

The PDP also at the forum indicted Governor Simon Lalong to have spent N3.3b in foreign trips since he assumed office in May 29th 2015.

Sango said that Lalong spends N300 million in each of his foreign trip which accumulates to N3.3 million in nine trips made so far.

He also drew the attention of the press to the fact that the Plateau state government has received N97 billion as revenue in the past one year and yet “these sums were not utilised towards alleviating the suffering of the people”.

Sango also disclosed that Lalong has borrowed 18 billion naira as loan from commercial banks, while at the same time crying out loud that he had inherited crippling loans from the previous administration.

He also revealed that Lalong has spent N1.4 billion to purchase and intall GPRS Tracking Device on 100 cars, which translates to N14 million to track one car for one year.

” How much is a car tracker that Lalong will spend N1.4 billion to install on just 100 cars and what is the unit cost of one car that would warrant the expenditure of millions of naira to secure it for just one year and mind you, this amount does not include the N155 million that has been committed on insurance for the 100 cars”,he said.
