Oye-Iyanomo community fracas: Police to arraign suspects in court

The Police have confirmed the arrest of four members of the Oye-Iyanomo Community in Ovia North East Local Government Area for their alleged involvement in the fracas that took place in the community where properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed recently.
Speaking on the fracas, the AIG Zone 5 Public Relations Officer, Emeka Iheanacho who confirmed the arrest said they will be charged to court after the completion of investigations. It was gathered that the incident was not unconnected with the dissolution of the Community Development Association (CDA) and the attempt by the Enogie and Odionwere in the community to assert their authority on the people.
According to sources, trouble broke out when the Odionwere of Iyanomo Pa Sunday Agho asked one Osarobo Airomwanbor to call the former youth chairman, Mr. Iyayi Eboigbe who was on his site working when some suspected thugs accompanied by some of the community youths rounded him up and unleashed mayhem on him.
The thugs reportedly inflicted various degrees of injuries on the occupants of the community and destroyed vehicles, houses and properties. The Odionwere in his hideout called on the appropriate authority to return peace to the community.
Also destroyed was a church property belonging to Pastor Osarumwense Oshodin of Grace and Favour Empowerment Assembly whilst musical instruments razed and vandalized by the suspected thugs.
