Over 25 Church Members Killed As Boko Haram Raze Building, Cars

No fewer than 25 members of a Pentecostal church, Christ Redeemed Ministry have been murdered in a recent attack by members of Boko Haram in Kodunga local government area of Borno State .

The recent attack which took place during Sunday service took everyone by surprise as women and children were more of the casualties during that attack as the church building was also razed down by inferno.

It was gathered that members of the church led by Pastor Ikechukwu Chidi Favour were already seated for the Sunday service when at exactly 9:45am Boko Haram members riding on motorbikes attacked and fired sporadic gunshots killing over 25 members as others escaped with injuries.

The church building and vehicles parked within the church premises were also not spared as the Boko Haram members set everything within the buildings and cars on fire.

At least a total of 10 cars were burnt down in the latest attack by the Boko Haram members .

The number of casualties are expected to rise as other members are still not accounted for following the recent bloody attack .

Meanwhile the State government through it media aide has condemned the recent bloodbath at the Christ Redeemed Ministry by Boko Haram members.

In a statement, the government expressed condolences over the loss of over 25 lives of members of the church adding that it has ordered an investigative panel of enquiry into that attack with a mandate to submit its report within two weeks .

Also, the resident pastor of the Christ Redeemed Ministry Ikechukwu Chidi Favour according to information made available had earlier received death threat messages from some unknown persons over possible attack on his life.
