Osodieme of Awka Kingdom bags IAWPA title for excellence

The Osodieme of Awka Kingdom and multiple award winning Ambassador of Peace, Her Excellency, Chief Princess (Mrs.) Nwanne Campo Amb.P., has added another feather to her crown.

The United Nations Peace Volunteers and Sustainable Development Goals Partners recently conferred the title of Eminent Peace Ambassador for International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) on her.

Already, a holder of the United Nations-Polac Ambassador for Peace, the Santander, Spain based humanitarian, reacting to the award in a telephone interview, said she was nominated in her absence.

Fondly called Princess Nwanne Campo, this boisterous Nigerian-Spaniard is a valued mentor and counselor in a number of fields:

She is an actress, MC, event planner, fashion designer, beauty and fashion consultant, as well as inspirational writer and motivational speaker, personal shopper and language interpreter, among many others.

An alumni of Queen’s School, Enugu and an alumnus of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in Anambra State, this amazing showbiz impresario has lived, worked on the International stage and successfully achieved record as the first African woman to win the prestigious Woman of Dignity Award as part of the events that marked the 2015 edition of Deborah Women’s Day organised by the Hephzibah Christian Organisation in Valencia, Spain.

Married to Chief Engineer Ignacio Campo (Okwesilieze), Ambassador Nwanne Campo broke the glass ceiling when she won the African Woman in Diaspora Voice Achievers Award in Holland in 2013. The same year, she won the Naija-European (NEU) Event Planner of the Year Award. Anambra State Association in Malaga, Spain, gave her honoured as the Best Nigerian MC in Spain.

A diligent woman and a force for change, Chief Campo earned prominence for her humanitarian works in Spain, with a long-standing commitment to Tartessos, a Non-Governmental Organisation. Her voluntary work with the organisation has a focus on giving First Aid assistance to all ranges of African Immigrants to Spain. She has been very active in raising awareness on Diaspora matters as a regular participant in inter-cultural projects, which aim at bridging the yawning gap between Spaniards and Immigrants. Nwanne’s community consciousness reaches far and wide like her big and loving heart.

She is a Nigerian representative at international conferences where she speaks on the nation’s rich cultural potentials as well as preaches on peace as catalyst for sustainable development. She is also instrumental to the smooth running of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Spain where she holds the post of Director of Welfare.

Speaking to The Anambra Times on the award, the Programme Facilitator (Nigeria), Ambassador Pascal Ike, had this to say: “We, the United Nations Peace Volunteers and Sustainable Development Goals Partners have enhanced the delivery of SDGs since adoption by the United Nations on September 25, 2015. In particular, we are involved in United Nations advocacy issues ranging from human rights, good governance, gender equality, domestic violence, climate change and citizenship education. In addition, we collaborate with relevant stakeholders, and actively involve ourselves in volunteer schemes, support network and capacity building.”
