Oshiomhole, tax rent not wealth, says APC guber aspirant

An aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo State Governorship Election coming up in September, Arch. Austine Ilenre Emuan has taken a swipe at the tax system of the administration of the state led by Governor Adams Oshiomhole, accusing him of taxing rent instead of wealth.
Emuan made the accusation while speaking to newsmen at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja after picking his expression of Interest and Nomination form.
While speaking on how he is going to raise more funds to augment the falling Federal Government allocation, he said: “Edo people want to pay tax, its not as if they don’t want to pay, but they are rebelling against paying tax today because of the way it is at the moment, we are taxing rent, we want to be able to tax wealth, this is the reason why we are going to create a lot of wealth”.
Emuan who said he would tackle the state problem on three major developmental philosophies including; Capillary Democracy, Bi-cultureless, and Moral Economy, said his vision for the state are built on these in order to ensure Edo becomes the next destination for investment.
He lamented the present system that breeds terrorism and other social vices because of the huge inequality that existed among the people which his theory of moral economy is going to address.  He stressed that the Capillary Democracy would take power to the people while the concept of bi-culturalism is utilizing culture to create wealth in the society.
He explained that his administration will revive the moribund state industries through bail-out as well as provide jobs for the teeming unemployed youths of Edo State.
