OPM: Burden Of Free And Qualitative Education In Nigeria

Education of a girl child in Nigeria in some part of the country is a no go area, this was the reason for a Christian-based NGO has taken it upon herself to educate girl children. 
This is the case of Miss Esther Abdul (not real name) who sold satchet water in the streets of Port Harcourt just to meet the needs of her widowed mother and her siblings. Though she was brilliant having attended a good school when her father was alive and took care of her school issues, the present state of her family with her mother catering for she and her four other siblings meant that she at the age of ten had to fend for her other siblings by hawking what is generally referred to as ‘pure’ water in the streets not minding the fact that lots of evil men were out there and may likely take advantage of their plight and her daughter’s vulnerability. 
Just like others whose poor state have been turned around, this little girl was privileged to meet with Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries OPM who like Jesus Christ had compassion on her and immediately gave her scholarship at one of his many free schools that dot parts of the country. She was not the only recipient of this largesse. Her siblings also got the same. 
This narrative has become the hallmark of this amiable apostle of God who is bringing succour to many families and helping build an illiterate free society. The issue is not just building schools and announcing that they are free to members of the society it is the fact that these schools operate in the highest level of quality that can be found in any school where parents are made to pay high fees. Watching one of the videos of the students answering rather difficult questions nearly tempted me to calling the church to enrol my kids so they can also benefit but I quickly realised that the free school is for those who are so unprivileged in life. The very downtrodden who had no hope of making it in life talk less of getting quality education. 
It does not stop at getting education from pre nursery to secondary school but taking them to tertiary level enabling them to becoming better citizens and responsible to their families. 
The fact that while some churches use the offerings of poor members to establish expensive schools which are out of the reach of their poor members makes the contributions  of Apostle Chinyere even more commendable and worthy of emulation. As at today, the ministry through it’s Foundation operates 16 free schools and more than one hundred students are currently on overseas scholarship studying for free and their clothings, feeding and other personal needs are taken care of freely solely from tithes and offerings of members of the church. I have always advocated for Nigerians to key into the wonder that is taking place in the country under the guidance of Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere who is changing lives and making them candidates for heaven. We may not all be Christians neither are we all from the areas where these schools are situated but the truth is that people that benefit from all what this great man of God is doing are Nigerians. He does not discriminate and has never in anyway allowed such sentiments to stop him from doing good. 
Aside the free school scheme of the Omega Power Ministries OPM, the foundation also recently established a highly equipped skill acquisition centre in Port Harcourt named after governor Nyesom Wike a hard working governor that has impacted on lives of people of his state for those who may not know, this facility is the biggest and most equipped non governmental facility of such in the country. The fact that it is free of charge calls for greater support from Nigerians in order to ensure that more persons benefit from this commendable efforts of the OPM Foundation. As it is today, thousands have benefitted already and more thousands are in the process of getting better training from this facility.
