Ooni vows not to compromise Yoruba unity

..As Alawe celebrates 5th coronation anniversary

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi has vowed never to compromise Yoruba unity under any guise.

Oba, Ogunwusi who was speaking at Ilawe Ekiti in Ekiti State during the weekend when Alawe of Ilawe, Oba Ajibade Alabi was celebrating his 5th year coronation anniversary, had insisted that the southwest can only remain relevant if all political divides close ranks.

The highly revered Ooni lauded Alawe for his giant strides in the community, saying he would continue to work assiduously for the development of Yoruba race .

The Alawe however praised Governor Ayo Fayose for embarking on dualisation of Ilawe road, said the project will add more aesthetic value to the town and open more business opportunities when completed.

“Through my instrumentality, the immediate past government extended Fibreoptic cable to Ilawe and today this town is fully digitalized. My ascension onto this throne is to bring development and this I will
continue to do, because I shall not rest until will get to the desired destination.

While speaking, Governor Fayose rained curses on those plotting to remove him from office, saying God has promised to disgrace them before the end of the year.

Fayose said becoming the governor of Ekiti State was through divine arrangement, adding that whoever that is contriving evil deeds against him shall be put to reproach .

Fayose, who spoke in Ilawe Ekiti, in Ekiti Southwest Local Government at the weekend during the 5th coronation anniversary of Oba Alabi, said those who wanted to get at him would have to fight God and
conquer before coming for his head.

The occasion was chaired by a business mogul, Chief Oyedeji Olajubu, while the Lagos fiery lawyer, Mr Femi Falana(SAN) was the Chairman, anniversary planning committee.

The Governor described the duo of Ooni and Alawe as potent unifying forces in Yoruba race, branding the humility of Oba Ogunwusi as a strength that will restore Yoruba’s glory in no distant time.

“God was not foolish before making me the Governor of Ekiti State, he was not sleeping or slumbering. So, whoever that is against me is against God. And let me say this, God shall vent his anger upon my
enemies this year. Some shall be removed from top offices because of me. Some shall fall sick and all these were promises of God for me in 2017”, he said.

Before Fayose sauntered into the arena of the ceremony held at Corpus Christi College , Ilawe Ekiti, there was a mild drama as the governor and his predecessor , Dr Kayode Fayemi, who was already seated had snubbed each other when Fayose arrived the venue.

Fayose, who was heralded by the chanting of Osoko, his political acronym, headed straight to the high table , where only the former governor’s wife, Mrs Bisi Fayemi had risen to greet the governor with
her husband permanently held to his seat.

This further fueled insinuation that all was not well between the two political gladiators, s Fayose recently accused Fayemi of plotting to seek reversal of the April 4, 2015 supreme court judgement , which validated the election held on June 21, 2014.
