Onitsha business man raises alarm over threat to life

A businessman in Onitsha, Anambra state, Chief Eric Uwaoma, has petitioned the police Command in the state for alleged threat to his life, attributing it to issues relating a property he acquired at 35 Hamna street, Onitsha.

According to the petition to the Police Area commander, Onitsha, Uwaoma`s lawyer Atawodi Agwu, alleged that one Chibike popularly called Chibyke and several other unknown persons, have been disturbing, harassing and threatening his lives and that of his people at the place.

According to Atawodi, SOECI Global services which belonged to the petitioner, Chief Uwaoma, acquired the empty space from the Mbelekeke he family of Onitsha, the Owners of the place for a long time now.

But Chibike, alleged the practitioner, in company of the unknown thugs have been threatening to maim, beat him up or permanently disfigure any of his members that they see within the range of their client’s property.

Atawodi said they discovered that Chibike was the brother of the person who purchased the land close to their client’s property and the two properties were distinct and separate, wondering their undue interference on their land.

Said the lawyer in the petition ”we implore you to use your good offices to investigate this matter with a view to discovering the truth behind this matter and bringing back the peace that has always been enjoyed by the members of our client in the market”

Chief Uwaoma however told newsmen that Chibike has been boosting that he has a foremost political figure in the country from the South East behind him coupled with his brother residing abroad who has enormous resources t would silence anybody in the matter.

But when contacted on his mobile handset Chibiike who was furious alleged that it was Chief Uwaoma who has been sending thugs to him.

He said the matter had gone to Court, where Chief Uwaoma was defeated , threatening to arrest and carte him away to Force Headquarters, Abuja.

He said “who is Chief Uwaoma. Does he have money to recover land frpm water . From Friday, I will put container at the place”

However, Chief Uwaoma said although court has given judgment in the matter, his plot was beyond more than 377.076 square metres, but Chibike and his people had entered his own plot after sacking his traders and tenants, so that he can carry concrete work there.

He said apart from the fact that Mgbelekeke people gave him ownership ownership-tennant of the space of land, the Onitsha South Local Government Area also gave him allocation paper for the place, which can be found in the Local Government ledger.

Uwaoma warned of the likely breakdown of law and order in the area,saying that nobody can fold his hand to allow his property taken away.
