Ondo Ex- Speaker, Majority Leader Dumps PDP for APC

Former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Malachi Coker and Majority Leader, Gbenga Araoyinbo have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) despite crisis still rocking the parliament in the state.
Both Coker and Araoyinbo representing Ilaje Constituency II and Akoko North West Constituency II respectively were former members of the crisis ridden Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The duo joined the ruling APC on Monday at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s office in Akure, the state capital.
Speaking, the two lawmakers of the State Assembly said their decision was based on the present lack of direction that is rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The duo said the need to join the ruling APC became very important in order to afford them the right political positioning to bring dividends of democracy to their respective constituencies.
Ade Adetimehin, the Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state received the two decampees at the event attended by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Adetemehin said the duo should continue to work for the party noting that more members are still being expected in the ruling party.
Earlier, Governor Akeredolu expressed joy at the defection of the new members and charged them to support his government and transformation of his government in the state.
