He spoke at a press briefing held with some selected journalists on Tuesday in Akure, the state capital.

The ex-lawmaker disclosed that he had already tendered his resignation letter to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward chairman and the State Chairman.

“I want to use this medium to thank the entire members of the party in my local government for their cooperation in the little time I spent in the party.

“Since I have been in this party, it has been one problem to the other due to lack of oneness and cohesion.

“The latest development in the party is nothing to write home about, less than 15 days to the election, one cannot say this is where the pendulum of victory will swing. In view of this, I take my exit from the party, may God help all of us” he said.
