Ohanaeze Ndigbo in APC declares Joe Igbokwe as apex leader

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the All Progressive Congress (APC), Lagos State chapter, has declared Engr.Joe Igbokwe as the apex leader of the group and the voice of Ndigbo in Lagos State Politics.
The group made the declaration during a press briefing at the Ohanaeze Secretariat on Wednesday,. While several other resolves were made, Daily Times reports that the group also condemned the use of Eze Nwachukwu Anslem Njoku’s palace as Igbo House in Lagos.
It maintained that Nwachukwu’s palace is not and will never be a palace where decisions of Igbo course are taken for Ndigbo, stating that Eze Nwachukwu’s palace is his personal residence and nothing more In a statement containing the declarations by the group, and compiled by Ndigbo in APC Media Committee, Hon.Jude Idimango was named the Deputy Apex Leader, Eze Uche Dimgba (Okpotemba) State Coordinator, Chief Chris Ekwilo, Deputy State Coordinator, Dr. Ken Mordi Chairman BOT, and others.
The statement read in part: “Ohanaeze Ndigbo secretariat is the house of the Igbos in Lagos state and only place where decisions binding Ndigbo is taken.
That President of Ohanaeze is the Number one man and voice of all Igbos in Lagos. “ That on Political sphere Engr.Joe Igbokwe is the apex leader and the voice of Ndigbo in Lagos state politics.
Eze Nwachukwu was the former chairman, council of Ndieze Lagos state and his tenure has expired and terminated.
“Eze Nwachukwu has officially handed over to the new Chairman and the new excos. That any decision(s) taken in Nwachukwu’s palace right from the time his tenure expired including the recent one where he appointed Chief Anslem Njoku chairman of Ndigbo in APC is Null and Void.
Anslem Njoku is not the Coordinator or chairman of Ndigbo in APC Lagos. That Anslem Njoku has no right to act as the chairman henceforth.
“The Coordinator of Ndigbo in APC Lagos state is the person appointed by the apex leader Joe Igbokwe which is Eze Uche Dimgba (Okpotemba).
There is no change whatsoever.” Adding that Eze Nwachukwu, and his loyalists have no right to determine or decide for Ndigbo in APC who will be the Coordinator or for any other position, the group said it is the right of the Apex leader to do so, because the APC party has given him the mandate and whoever he chooses stands.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo had decided to appoint someone as a representative member of BOT Ndigbo in APC Lagos state who will be the eyes of Ohanaeze in the Ndigbo APC Lagos state.
The name of the nominated person will be forwarded immediately to the apex leader Engr Joe Igbokwe.
“Finally, that Ohanaeze wishes to state categorically that anyone who in any way goes against this decisions or any other decision taken at the secretariat of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos state in any form will be SANCTIONED drastically by Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos state.
That any defaulter will be REMOVED from whatever activities Ndigbo is doing in Lagos state, ” it further stated.
