Ogun LG polls: Security agencies warn trouble makers 

Leadership of all the security agencies in Ogun State on Thursday warned miscreants as well as others who may want to forment troubles to stay clear during the local government and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) election holding across the state tomorrow.
 The security agencies, which included the Police, the Army, Immigration Service, Customs Service, NDLEA, FRSC, Vigilance Service of Ogun State (VSO) among others, gave the warning during a meeting with all the participating political parties and other stakeholders held at the Police Command headquarters in Eleweeran, Abeokuta, the state capital.
 The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone II comprising Ogun and Lagos states, Abdul-Majid Ali who addressed representatives of all the participating political parties and the stakeholders declared that the security agencies are ready to apply the full weight of the law against anyone caught perpetrating violence during the LG and LCDA election.
 AIG Ali stated that the warning became necessary in view of the fact that security and other intelligent reports received so far indicated that some miscreants were plotting to cause violence across the state during the election.
 With particular mentioning of ballot boxes hijacking and destruction, Ali declared that security personnel on election duty will not hesitate to deal decisively with hoodlums
 He however, maintained that the collaborative efforts of the security agencies in the state were ready to ensure that the election is conducted under a free and fair atmosphere.
 His words ‘My message is very simple, but very tough. We’ve got intelligence report of some miscreants on plot to cause violence. I want to advise all parties to go back and put their houses in order. Police will not fold its arms to allow things to go sour. We are fully prepared to deal decisively with anybody going against the law’.
 The AIG also warned security personnel, particularly police officers against aiding and abetting violence during the grassroot election.
 Also speaking,, the Commissioner of Police in the State, vows to deploy not less than five thousand police officers for the election apart from other supporting security agents.
