Nov. guber poll: BIM disassociates self From IPOB position

The Biafran Independent Movement (BIM) led by Chief Ralph Uwazuruike has disassociated itself from the position of its arch -rival in Biafra struggle, the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) that there will be no governorship election in Anambra State on November 18, 2017.

The leader of BIM in Anambra South Senatorial zone, Chief Arinze Igbani, who stated this in a seminar held for directors, Commissioners and others in the zone, said BIM was not part of the propaganda that there will be no election in Anambra State come November this year.

Igbani said: “Holding election in Anambra State or any part of the South East cannot stop Biafra actualisation. And stopping the election cannot give us Biafra. It is the international community that gives Biafra by recognising us.In what looked like scathing attack on IPOB, Igbani said some of them do not understand the dynamics of the struggle to actualuse Biafra, saying ” if Biafra comes up on the day of the election, even a day after swearing-in, then everything about the Government will stop.
Therefore anybody who is trying to make trouble in any part of Igbo land in the name of trying to stop election in any part of Igbo land should have a rethink,” he added.

He condemned the increasing harassment and extortion of his members who are tricycle (Keke) and bike operators in Anambra State, calling on Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to pay their security forces especially the Police to avoid exploiting people who work hard to earn a living.

He said: “Everywhere in Anambra State, the Police are extorting money from people at gun point. The Police has created more hardship for people by seizing people’s bikes. The movement of goods and people from remote places to Onitsha markets has become increasingly difficult. This has created unemployment and hardship for families.
