NMPF sets up Media/Publicity Committee

The Nigeria Modern Pentathlon Federation (NMPF) has set up their Media/Publicity Committee for the successful hosting of the forthcoming Youth Olympic Games qualifier billed for December in Lagos.

President of the Federation, Jonathan Nnaji, who doubles as the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee said the 2018 Youth Olympic Games which starts with the global qualifiers across all continents this year is a media event and there was no way Nigeria would be hosting the qualifiers without involving the media, hence the creation of the Media and Publicity sub-committee which has Frank Ilaboya as Chairman.

Other members of the committee include, Mr. Andrew Ekejiuba (Daily Times Newspapers), Gowon, Akpodonor (Guardian Newspapers), Festus Abu (Punch Newspaper), Joe Apu (The SUN newspaper), Jacob Ajom (Vanguard Newspaper), Ajibade Olusegun Blessing (New Telegraph Newspaper), Adiola Omokhivie (NTA), Promise Efoge (Television Continental), Niron Adesina (Silver Bird Television) and Patrick Ibeh of Metro Sports who is secretary to the committee.

Chairman of the committee, Frank Ilaboya while briefing his members on the task ahead during their inaugural meeting at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos said the eleven-man committee drawn from both print and electronic media were carefully selected for optimum result hence they cannot afford to fail.

As a seasoned sports journalist and administrator, Ilaboya who is the former Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Lagos chapter, and presently the Chairman of the Edo State Football Association promised that his committee must surely deliver to further convince the world that Nigeria has the capability of hosting even a better global event if the opportunity arises.
