NIPOST to promote patronage of buy-naija goods– Balama

Dr. Richard Balami, acting postmaster general of the Federation has declared that the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) will collaborate with the BUY-NAIJA PROJECT management team to promote large scale patronage of Made-in-Nigeria products and services by Nigerians.

Balami made this known when the Buy-Naija Management Team recently paid him a courtesy visit at the NIPOST Corporate Headquarters, Abuja.

Balami who commended the Team for the initiative, describing the Buy-NAIJA Made in Nigeria idea  as very timely and in tandem with NIPOST e-Commerce programme aimed at collaborating with stakeholders in the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to showcase the qualities of products of the enterprises.

Commenting on NIPOST delivery capacity, the acting Postmaster General disclosed that postal services have some unique advantages including its extensive delivery network, adding that his management has started exploring this network and can be fully utilized by incorporating new technologies to reduce cost, improve quality and increase consistency.

He also expressed his Management’s appreciation to BUY -NAIJA PROJECT Team for considering NIPOST as worthy partners in the promotion of Made-in-Nigeria goods, stressing the fact that the NIPOST remains the universally accessible channel through which economic, social, financial and digital opportunities can be extended to the broadest range of the population.

According to him, NIPOST will continue to support all well-meaning efforts of the Federal Government and agencies aimed at reducing the hardship currently experienced by Nigerians as occasioned by a down turn of the economy.

On his part, Apostle William Iheanacho, chairman of the Team, disclosed that the BUY-NAIJA PROJECT is a campaign initiative of the National Industrial Revolution Plan of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment to institute a culture of patriotism on Nigerians to love and patronise goods and services made in the country.

Apostle Iheanacho stressed that the visit was to seek a strategic partnership with NIPOST for a seamless execution of the Team’s mandate of promoting patronage of Made- in – Nigeria goods and services by Nigerians using NIPOST widespread as leverage.

He disclosed that his team will also approach other stakeholders and institutions as part of their campaign, pointing out that their support will no doubt contribute to the success and sustainability of the National Industrial Revolution Plan.

He explained that the “success of the BUY NAIJA PROJECT Campaign will revolutionize the Nigerian economy by stimulating the creation of millions of jobs and wealth generation. The Campaign will also encourage stakeholders in various trades to lay emphasis on producing quality and excellent products that can stand the test of time and also add value to the buyer.”

The BUY NAIJA PROJECT, he said believes that excellent products and services will equally result in a higher national brand quality and better internal self-esteem thereby promoting a positive image for the cou1ntry internationally, thus creating a value chain leading to increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
