The Governing Board of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has pledged unwavering support to the Agency’s Executive Management in fulfilling its mandate.
At the Board’s inaugural meeting in Lagos, Chairman Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar assured that the Board would work closely with management to advance NIMASA’s objectives, with the ultimate goal of building a vibrant and sustainable Blue Economy for Nigeria.
Commenting further, he expressed satisfaction and confidence in the executive management, noting:
“As you may know, the Management of the Agency has signed a performance bond with the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, which will serve as the Key Performance Indicators to measure the Agency’s achievements.
“As a Board, we are determined to work with the Management to ensure the full realisation of activities that will help shape policy direction for the Agency.”
On his part, the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of NIMASA, Dayo Mobereola, while welcoming members, reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to its core mandate of promoting and regulating shipping, maritime safety, security, and marine environment protection in Nigeria.
He emphasised that the support of the Governing Board would further strengthen NIMASA’s capacity to drive initiatives aligned with the Federal Government’s vision for a sustainable Blue Economy.
Mobereola reiterated that NIMASA Executive Management would continue to work closely with the Board and relevant stakeholders to foster an enabling environment for investment, enhance maritime infrastructure, and build human capacity in the sector.
