Niger Delta is dominated with primitive leaders – Gov Dickson

Akam James, Yenagoa
Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson, has faulted the kind of politics played by politicians and leaders of the Niger-Delta region, describing them as primitive leaders.
Dickson who noted that the business of politics is to serve and better the lives of the people, and not to maim, kill and destroy the people that should be protected.
The governor who spoke during the monthly SEC meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at the state secretariat in Yenagoa, referred to the recent Presidential election in the country, that was characterized with alleged violence in the state, adding that no single crisis happened in Katsina and Adamawa states where the two major contestant hail from.
“Our leaders are so primitive, why is it that in South-south and the Niger-delta region, which is mostly the Ijaw areas, we always fight ourselves? They bring soldiers to kill their own brothers in the name of politics”
Did you hear that they killed people in Katsina and Adamawa state. Tell our Ijaw brothers to bring development to the Ijaw areas and not to kill the people.
As we prepare for the forthcoming elections, there’s a big work to be done We have to prepare, in the last elections we didn’t contest against APC but federal might who came to kill our people.
We suffered a lot in their hands and we never lost any election apart from the ones they hijacked which we will recover soon in the court.
Dickson who commended the stakeholders for the support during the last elections and words of encouragement, disclosed that there are thousands of refugees still fleeing their communities due to intimidation by the military forces, adding that if they will do all that to get power in a general election, he wonders what will happen in an isolated Bayelsa election.
This time it will be the state system against the federal system, and with all of you leaders supporting us we will overcome. I hereby appeal for prayers, while we are also consulting together for a successful outcome.
