The New Bama town. that was once taken over by B’Haram.

After about two years of attacks, it appears peace and order has been restored to Bama town in Borno state. Bama, Borno state’s second-largest city was attacked by Boko Harm in 2014. The first attack was initially repelled by Nigerian troops, but the militants returned in greater force, leading some of the soldiers to follow fleeing civilians in an effort to escape. The Nigerian soldiers have now successfully overpowered the militants and have calm in the city.

bama Army denies Boko Haram hoisted flags in Borno The Boko Haram sect then, according to a resident, took complete control of Bama and hoisted its flag in the city center. Bama with a population of about 500,000 people is about 60 kilometres (37 miles) from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, which has witnessed series of deadly attacks by the Islamist group. In June 2014, it was reported that Boko Haram had taken over Borno villages and burnt countless churches, houses thereby displacing thousands of villagers from their homes. This is the new look of Bama the largest city in Borno that was once operated majorly by Boko Haram militants. See photos below:
