NBC Bans Songs By Olamide, Davido And 9ice

The Nigerian Broadcast Commission (NBC) has tagged five Nigerian songs as “Not to be Broadcasted”. They include songs by Davido,Olamide and 9ice
The Nigerian Broadcasting Commission is wielding the big stick and it has fallen on 3 super stars – Olamide, Davido and 9ice.
The NBC has banned their songs which are currently dominating the airwaves.
From the notice passed around to various radio and television stations in the country, the NBC tagged five Nigerian songs as “Not to be Broadcasted”.
The songs include Davido’s “If Remix” and Fall; Olamide’s “Wavy Level” and “Wo!”. Also banned is 9ice’s “Living Things”.
Save for Olamide’s “Wo!” which the Federal Ministry of Health said violated the Tobacco Control Act 2015, the NBC did not state which laws the other songs contravened.
Davido and Olamide are not new to such bans. The prohibition made them gain more prominence on social media and clubs.
In 2015, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) was called in to investigate Davido for allegedly promoting the use of drugs in his song ‘Fans Mi’.
The singer was investigated but later cleared of committing any crime.
